Love Yourself First: Young Hearts Run Free 🎶

Hello lovelies,

I have been SO excited to finally be able to post this AMAZING song and talk about the artist and the song in general. WOW is all I can say! If you love a good bass, groove, and funk then you will absolutely adore this song. This song is for anybody and everyone who is on the road to loving themselves more!

Candi Staton’s voice in the way she sings this beautiful song is just absolutely astounding. I can’t see anyone hating this song because it is all about: SELF LOVE! The first gazillion times I played it, I did not even listen to the lyrics, just the music and her tone. Her lyrics made it ten times better. This for sure is a 70’s hit which is why I am in love with it. Definitely a song to groove to in the car with your besties, your man, your woman, and even your parents.

The message behind Young Hearts Run Free describes how we should love ourselves first before we get into any type of strong relationship. Candi’s carefree lyrics that speak so many facts make it seem like such a happy song where everyone needs to come together and love each other but… It’s actually talking about loving yourself, spending time with yourself, and making sure you can handle your own before you go and make wrong decisions based on how lost you were in the first place. It’s okay to be selfish! She emphasizes how great it is to find yourself before you lose yourself more in circumstances that shouldn’t have happened in the first place. Know YOUR worth and don’t ever take yourself for granted, you are love!

PS- Pay attention to how different the decade is in the live performance, so surreal..her outfit is screaming at me to buy the same exact one. Definitely getting 70’s fever!

Let’s end with this:

“But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: you are more valuable than many sparrows.”

Luke 12:7
